2013 GRASSI “NAPA VALLEY” CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Incredibly fabulous… supplying abundant pleasure, commencing with the first twirl in the glass. Unfurling a hedonistic bouquet of baking spices, Ghirardelli Chocolate, crème de cassis, blackberries and graphite. Already earning a stellar 94 Point score from Antonio Galloni, Grassi’s Napa Valley Cabernet was authored by Robbie Meyer, whose experience includes 5 vintages at the iconic Peter Michael Winery, as well as time at Lewis Cellars, Jericho Canyon, Del Dotto, and Meyer is currently the winemaker for Pierson Meyer… In reference to a long line of truly outstanding Cabernets from Grassi, renowned critic Antonio Galloni writes, “one of my favorite under the radar producers in Napa Valley…”
Emanating from Grassi’s Estate Vineyard located on Soda Canyon Road, which is positioned about a mile South of the Stag’s Leap District, and rests just below Atlas Peak AVA, Grassi excelled in 2013… The clonal selection includes 337, which is commonly used in cult Cabernets and is known for producing bold yet luscious wines with some spice, dark berry flavors, and supple tannins. Aged for 20 months in Oak, this wine has everything I look for in a top-tier Napa Valley Cabernet.
