2014 IDEOLOGY “ESTATE” CABERNET SAUVIGNON, OAK KNOLL DISTRICT
Kick-starting our Customer Appreciation Week, we couldn’t wait to show you this great Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley’s prized Oak Knoll AVA. The area’s close proximity to the San Pablo Bay results in a climate that’s cooler than the neighboring Yountville Appellation and it’s absolutely perfect for slowly ripening Bordeaux varietals. It’s also home to such notables as Trefethen, Biale, and Blackbird Vineyards… Ideology’s 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a deep, concentrated style, oozing with crushed black fruits, exotic spices, sweet oak, minerals, bay leaf and cigar box. The wineries ‘07 Estate Cab earned 95 Points from Wine Enthusiast and was the #57 wine on the top 100.
Contemplating 20 months in oak barrels, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon gives your palate a clear definition of the rocky terroir, and thrusts forth impressions of black chocolates, spice box, minerals and focused dark berries. Carefully guided from grape to bottle by winemaker Leigh Meyering, who previously held various winemaking positions at Spring Mountain Vineyards, MacRostie and Clos Des Jacobins in St. Emilion. If the concept of a great, full-bodied Napa Cabernet at under thirty per bottle makes you happy, you’ll definitely want a case.
