2015 MISC. “DIAMOND MOUNTAIN” CABERNET SAUVIGNON, TWO BARREL PRODUCTION
Misc. is an abbreviation of the word Miscellaneous, a term defined as “having various qualities, aspects, or subjects.” Well, trust me, there is nothing abbreviated about this wine… This two barrel production of Diamond Mountain Cabernet, arising from the highest vineyard on Diamond Mountain, oozes with majestic dark berries, roasted coffee, volcanic minerals and black chocolates. An idyllic expression of Diamond Mountain with an unbelievable presence that saturates your palate in a profusion of blackberry cassis, crushed raspberries, and espresso roast. This wine perfectly conveys the essence of what makes the Diamond Mountain district so desired. Period.
Conjured from the expectational 2015 vintage, this wine makes a strong statement of power, focus and depth. Composed by talented winemaker Grant Long Jr., winemaker at Witchery as well as the James Joseph and Steps Reserve wines, this wine spends around 20 months in French oak barrels. The flavors are incredibly compelling, yet sensual and pure… a hallmark of Grant’s winemaking style. Sensational levels of mountain berries, layered into creme de cassis, Baker’s chocolate, and hints of graphite wrap your palate in a silk blanket laced with joy. With just two barrels produced, I strongly recommend adding a case of this absolutely stunning Cabernet Sauvignon to your cellar…
