$19.99 $19.99
Andes Plateau results from a tireless search along the Andes Mountains in Chile to find terroir capable of producing balanced wines with remarkable character and sense of place. It was the dream of Felipe Uribe, who earned a Master’s degree in Viticulture and Enology at the University of Madrid before making wine in Chile and working at La Crema in the US. He makes his Cabernet in a bright, fresh, balanced style that’s embedded with fine details and outlined in elegance. At $19.99, it packs serious value.
Felipe tastes a wide selection of grapes in the vineyard, before harvesting early and by hand to preserve the fruit’s freshness and brighter acidity. He ferments with native yeasts and barrel ages for just ten months, which results in a pure expression of the fruit.
The winery’s seven acres of vines are grown in alluvial soils, transported by the river, and contain a mix of gravel, sand, and silt. The elevation combined with the well-drained earth help produce powerful berries and a lucid glimpse into Maipo Valley terroir..
