Named Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s “2015 Region of the Year,” California’s Lodi Appellation is now getting world-wide recognition. Leading the charge in planting Spanish Varietals in Lodi, Bokisch is producing compelling wines worthy of your attention. Proprietor Markus Bokisch worked as a viticulturist for Joseph Phelps Vineyards in 1989, and while building their Rhone focused Le Mistral program, he discovered the potential of this exciting region.

Earning a Gold Medal at the 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the 2013 Bokisch Grenache is both intriguing and wildly complex. A sublime example of domestically farmed Grenache, if you’re searching for a terrific everyday wine that will complement a myriad of dishes and is also immensely fun to enjoy on its own… this is it.is it.

Description

2013 BOKISCH “TERRA ALTA VINEYARD” GARNACHA

Winery Notes: “… Translucent gemstone color of brilliant red garnet. Notes of Smuckers strawberry jam, pomegranate juice and boysenberry pie delight the nose ending with fresh aromas of lifesaver, lemonheads and fresh cedar. This medium bodied wine has bright acidity and upfront dry tannins. Flavors of cranberry cocktail and fresh strawberry daiquiri end with a cherry vanilla like quality reminiscent of Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream.”
