2016 REYNOLDS FAMILY PERSISTENCE PROPRIETARY RED
You might recognize Steve Reynolds from the hit Netflix documentary Decanted where he gives insight into his winemaking techniques. Steve has also been producing hits at his Reynolds Family Winery for more than 20 years… One of my favorite wines that he makes is his Persistence Red Blend, and the 2016 is absolutely rocking at this value-price, and shouldn’t be missed.
The 2016 Persistence is built on a foundation of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and dressed with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petite Verdot. This wine makes its splash from one of Napa Valley’s greatest vintages, and one that the Wine Spectator ranks as the highest rated vintage since 1997.
It’s cultivated from Steve’s Persistence Vineyard located in Napa Valley’s prized Oak Knoll district, just North of the town of Napa off the Silverado Trail, and is perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. With a micro-climate cooler than the more up-valley AVA’s, the vineyard is perfectly suited to ripen Cabernet grapes.
