2013 DANIEL “SIERRA MAR VINEYARD” PINOT NOIR

$55.00 $34.00 $34.00

Arising from Gary Franscioni’s Sierra Mar Vineyard, one of Santa Lucia Highlands highest elevation vineyards. The Franscioni’s own and farm the iconic Garys’ and Rosella Vineyards and are partners in the revered Pisoni Vineyard.

With a total production of 4 barrels, this wine’s unmistakable black cherry/plum/spice aromas and plush velvety mouthfeel are wildly pleasing and perform significantly beyond its price. Not surprisingly, this profound Pinot was composed by accomplished winemaker Dan Fitzgerald, who got his start working at Williams Selyem…

I estimate the average single vineyard Pinot Noir from Sierra Mar to sell for around $50-$65 per bottle. At $34/btl and with ground shipping included, this truly micro-produced Pinot Noir will be a prize for your wine cellar and an all-star on your dinner table.

Description

2013  DANIEL “SIERRA MAR VINEYARD” PINOT NOIR

Winery Notes: ” The 2013 Daniel Sierra Mar Pinot Noir is deep purple in color.  The nose exhibits roasted coffee, black cherries and white flowers.  The palate is well structured with a fine, tannic backbone, tempered by a silky texture.  A concentrated core of dark plum, cherry and blood orange gives way to sapwood which lingers on the long finish.” 100 Cases Produced
