2019 LEWIS “NAPA VALLEY” SAUVIGNON BLANC
Lewis Cellars produces Cabernets in a powerfully engaging, forward style that carved out a niche for them as one of Napa Valley’s top players. In 2016, their 2013 Napa Cab ranked #1 on the Wine Spectator Top 100, making it easy to associate them as a Cabernet powerhouse. Did you know that they also produce sensational Sauvignon Blanc? Their 2019 impressed our panel with stunning detail, escalating energy, and precision balance. At $39.99, don’t miss it.
The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc comes from a single site in Napa Valley’s cooler-climate Oak Knoll AVA, where the clay loam soils, combined with the San Pablo Bay cooling influences, are ideal for ripening Sauvignon Blanc.
Lewis’s winemaker Josh Widaman, who previously made wine at Pahlmeyer, fermented this Sauvignon Blanc in neutral French Oak barrels and Stainless steel tanks. This technique adds layers to the mouthfeel and preserves freshness.
