$155.00 $155.00

Established in 1886, Ehlers Estate still runs out of the original stone building erected in 1886 by Bernard Ehlers.  The winery is uniquely positioned just South of Chuck McMinn’s renowned “Aida” Vineyard and Turley’s St. Helena Estate. They’re North of Vineyard 29 and Revana…  Numerous high-scoring Cabernets come from this area.

Winemaker Kevin Morrisey previously made wine at Stags’ Leap Winery and Etude, fashioning their high scoring Cabernets.  Aged for 18 months in French Oak Barrels, with an additional 18 months in the bottle, this wine is hitting it’s stride right now and promises to evolve for at least another decade.

Description

2012 EHLERS ESTATE “1886” CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Winery Notes: “Complex, layered, and sophisticated. Powerful and elegant, blackberries, espresso, caramel, leather, French plums, and sweet black currants. This wine is ripe and chewy, big and round, with beautifully resolved tannins. Great balance and structure, like an entire meal in a glass, with a finish that goes on forever. A classic Ehlers Estate “1886” that will continue to improve for decades.”
